Lactolose massive bloating and pain

I recently tried lactolose for constipation and after a couple of hours I was in incredible pain with very bad bloating and all sorts of gurgling noises. I am so pleased i didnt have to leave the house. I haven't taken it since. However still need to find a strong laxative to replace dulcolax liquid as getting too used to it. Did anyone else have an experience similar to mine and can anyone recommend a strong laxative you can get in the UK.

Yes I was the same. I have constella now and only need it about once a week. It has to be prescribed by the secondary health provider not Gp. I can't tolerate any thing else.

.I was having to have enemas and manual evacuation of my bowels approximately once per month. Now I open my bowels a minimum of twice a week and a maximum of about 4 times a day. I know, it sounds crazy, but that is what was happening. I still suffer with urgency, and when I go, I go a lot, but.....

Have you had a consultation with your local pharmacist? I've found their advice very helpful as they are trained to understand all the possible side effects of medicines. He/she may be able to recommend an alternative to Lactulose or Dulcolax which will suit you better.

Sounds like you are lactose intolerant. Have you tried excluding it from your diet? I suffered from what was thought to be IBS for 7 years then discovered it was a lactose intolerance. After a month of excluding it the effect was amazing. I was back to being able to eat anything except dairy if course, nuts, seeds and lentils. It really did make a difference.
