Hi there, we suggest you speak to your GP and/or pharmacist.
You can not just stop taking certain medication, sometimes it has to be a gradual stopping.
How much were you on? How long were you on them for?
I am reducing my amytrityline very vey slowly.
I was on 70 mg and now on 50mg
I did 60 mg for 2 weeks
I am on week 3 of 50 and after 4 weeks will drop it to 50 one day 40 the other for another month
Then i will try 40 for at least a month to see if i cope.
I take the medication for my back problems but have managed by choice to loose 4 stone in weight. I need to see how my back pain is.
I was only on the smallest dose ,but every time I try to come off this I have trouble had trouble with other antidepressants as well ,I’ve decided will just keep taking this low dose ,carnt copy with the symptoms and the aches and pains
amytirptyline is not usually used for drepression, they found out a side affect was it helped with nerve pain.
Have you thought od halving the tablet or taking one everyother day if you want to come off them?
Have you talked it through with the dr, you should never make a decision by your self.
