I've joined on behalf of my husband who has IBS. He's getting quite worried about his toilet trips. His poo looks fine but the water is sort of murky everytime he goes. I don't think worrying about this is helping his IBS so it would be great to know if anyone else experiences this too. He also has on and off abdominal pain and is susceptible to piles and fissures. However we have the added complication that he suffers from health anxiety quite badly, and we know this can sometimes intensify his symptoms.
We'd really appreciate any help, thank you.

I've had murky water loads of times, especially when things are a little loose. Might be worth getting him a referral for his health anxiety since getting anxious is unlikely to help his IBS. There may be techniques that he can be taught to help him.
I get this quite a lot of the time, I find it annoying if it's murky enough that I can't see what is actually in the toilet. How can you judge if you have done enough if you can't see it. I'm sure it's normal though as my husband, who has a cast iron stomach, gets it as well apparently!
