Does anyone have cancer and going through treatments, all my doctors cannot answer me as to why I have all the gut problems (blowing up with gas) have tried peppermint tea, gas ex, Mylanta, eating nothing everyday. Which is not good with Stage IV, doctors will not give me a clear answer for diverticulitis and cancer
This is my second Doctor I'm seeing and I do like him. But I don't get why they answer me about what supplements to take

Do you have a diagnosis of a bowel disorder or cancer? I'm just a little unsure what your post is saying. Don't want to say the wrong thing depending on what you already know 💓
I was diagnosed with Stage IV (spread to the liver and bones, started with breast) the end of 2017. I've had diverticulitis for 8 years now. Seems that they do not want me to take probiotics, all the treatments I get bother my diverticulitis. And I've been to 2 specialists for cancer, neither can put something together for me to help with my diverticulitis and treatments.
Now I'm on a biological treatment (where they pinpoint where the cancer coming from to my understanding)
Anyhoo I eat very well, but too many dark veggies get me gassed up. I eat oatmeal every morning for breakfast. I started juicing carrots and ginger again, and if I ask the Docs they will probably put the kabash on that also... I asked both hospitals, I'm sure you've had a cancer patient with diverticulosis before (I do not want surgery for my intestines now, white count is always low) and they have not even suggested that yet, I know my body and if I chose to skip a treatment due to my intestines or too weak I do, just for a week.
I just hope I'm doing the right thing by juicing fresh, and since no probiotics are allowed I'll do a lactose free version twice a day with my own juice from juicing carrots and a little fresh ginger, all organic. Even the nutrionist told me all that I've known for years now. So it feels useless and depressing.
I have another contrast CT for Wednesday. And supposed to get one treatment on Monday.. Which I tried canceling, too much in one week for me.
I told them I want to see what my CT says regarding my guts, even though I just had one this past October.
My heart is with you debbe08, this is really rough. I have a very close work colleague going through similar treatment to you and I know it has been hard going for her at times. I think if you are tolerating juices then at least you are getting goodness into you. Like you I can't take too much green in one go, I try and take small amounts once a day and juice once or twice a week. Perhaps some advice from a good dietician or nuticionslist could offer more advice? Keep going, I will be thinking of you, keep in touch to let us know how you are 💓💓
I'm chugging along.... Thank you so much. I do an Ensure 1 gram of sugar. So I hope it's truly helping my body.... I know myself the best, but it's so hard to find someone who can help me! I'm shocked...
Hello. So sorry to hear about all you are dealing with. Why are pro/prebiotics not allowed? Sorry may seem obvious but I don't know. My brother had Ulcerative colitis and had his bowel removed and a j pooch created. He had reoccurring infections again and again on antibiotics for a year until he started taking probiotic called Symprove. He is sure that is why he hasn't had an infection in the last 8 months! Also have you tired adding cabbage to your juicing. I have seen it mentioned in personal stories as helpful. I'm of the understanding that as your jucing and not blending it doesn't have the same effect for bloating ect. Take care and keep us post. Sending love to you in this journey!
