Has anyone tried the Keto diet for IBS D in particular? Would love to hear your experiences.

No keto, but low fodmap has worked well for me.

I have done the low FODMAP diet. It’s been very helpful for me. I want to know if anyone had tired Keto?

The only thing keto did for my mum was give her gallstones lol the starch solution with the low fodmap diet stopped my ibs D :)

Hi! Can I kindly ask you what is the starch solution, please?

Of course! :) it's a book written by Dr John Mcdougall, he also has lots of talks on youtube. It's a starch based diet mainly focusing on potatoes, rice, corn, grains (use low fodmap options on these) with vegetables and fruit. No oil, no dairy and no meat (I cheat and eat meat once a weak, always lean like fish or turkey). If your safe foods are things like potatoes and rice, you pretty much are set to go lol hope this helps!

Thank you very much! :-) Don t know if it would be good in my case, cause rice and potatoes tend to create gas on me, but probably it is only in my case.. I ll be happy to deepen it ;-) Have a nice day!

I tried vegan keto combined with low fodmap, it worked wonders for me but I've got ibs-c. However, I had to stop after 3 months because I was loosing too much weight, it's strange because I had loads of energy & my bloating and distention completely went away. I'm going back on it again though bacause all my symptoms are back again and I think the are even worse than before.

Do you think long term the diet is sustainable? I have heard you shouldn’t do the diet for longer then six months.

You are right I think it is best just to try every so often because of the weight loss, it's a shame really because I definitely felt the benefits.
