Turmeric tablets

I have a flare up of my osteoarthritis and friends have said Turmeric tablets will really help. I can’t tolerate spicy food with my IBS, or garlic etc, does anyone take them. Will issues with my IBS outweigh any benefits they may give with osteoarthritis

Turmeric isn't spicy so you should be ok, you have nothing to lose by trying them.

Hi, If you do consider turmeric tablets, just make sure that it's not the kind that has bioperine added... bioperine is a pepper derivative and some manufacturers add it to their turmeric supplements in order to improve it's absorption. They do state it on the labels though.

Yes just started taking them as my rheumatologist told me about them She said she doesn't usually recommend anything but has had such good reports from patients

I have to be careful with spicy things but it hasn't made any difference at all

I'm so glad I read this. I regularly use Turmeric in my cooking but have never thought about tablets. I'm fine andxdont have issues with joints, just IBS, but I have a friend whose daughter is about to turn 16 this month and she has severe JIA (Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis) and it's her joints that are badly affected.

My granddaughter who'll be 4 at the beginning of February also has it but she has the inflammation mainly in her eyes, Uveitis.

I'm going to speak to both my daughter and friend about this and, as I say, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Oh yes it must be absolutely awful I wasn't diagnosed until my mid 50s and I can't imagine how it would have restricted my life when I was young my heart goes out to both the girls x

Fortunately my granddaughter has mainly Uveitis so here JIA is in the eyes. It did start in her joints but they seem to be much better now so she's functioning normally now. My good friend's daughter has it in just about all her joints but she's always got a smile on her face, she's such a lovey girl.

I can accept any arthritic pain now as I'm in my 60's but when you are young it just seems so cruel. x

I have never heard of that condition in the eyes glad that she is much better now in her joints

You usually find brave people smile you must be so proud

I hadn't either until our granddaughter had been diagnosed with it, children can go blind with it but fortunately she was caught early thanks to her mummy, my daughter.

They are very brave. Xx
