I have been suffering from Ibs for over 20 years.I am currently going through a flare up and feeling miserable and lost.I have found it easier even though I know it’s not correct but not to eat at all.My stomach seems to prefer having absolutely nothing.I suffer from nausea and cramps daily.I saw the doctor two days ago and he has put me on Colofac for two weeks.Hopefully my appetite will return even tho I am scared to eat anyway.
Take are all those Ibs sufferers🙂

Hi, Elena1931, I wouldn't say it was not correct to not eat at all. Each to their own, in my opinion, when it comes to IBS. For years I ate breakfast, lunch and dinner, thnking I was doing the right thing. Perhaps it was at that particular time, I don't know. But now I don't (ususally) eat anything till after 4pm when I have a kind of smallish lunch and then my evening meal sometime after 8pm but could be 10pm or even midnight sometimes. But I do find that the later in the day it is, the more my tummy settles. In fact yeserday, I was feeling pretty good (happens maybe 2 or 3 times a year!) and I went out from about noon till about 8pm and had nothing to eat the whole time (Just sipping some coke from time to time). I had my evening meal at about 9pm with what was left of the coke).
Sorry you are feeling uncomfortable. I find my body tells me when to eat with hunger pangs. But I have never gone a whole day without food. I eat something bland which isn't a trigger for me.
I'm with you all in this hell. One week I'm able to have ANYTHING then the next I can't even have crackers without cramps etc. I too get the nausea sometimes and it's just the end haha but mint will ease that for you. Sending love, Imodium and buscopan to you as this is what helps me the most
Thank you everyone,it is right that as the day goes on my stomach does settle.I need to re-educate myself to eat again and really find my trigger foods.I am now going to try dairy free and a low ish fibre diet that the doctor suggested to try.Ibs attacks send you to a desperate and helpless place that you have to ride through.Stress plays a big factor too.I am now on Buscopan three times a day.Fingers crossed.Thank you one again and take care everyone. Will let you know how I get on😌
