Hi everyone. have read some of the posts of folk with IBS or stomach/food problems. Have lost so much weight because of it over the years so can never get my weight over 7 st. Al ways freezing &ti &exhausted. only thing that doesn't cause problems is fruit/ vegetables. I wondered how other folk maintain their weight with something like this.as nobody mentions this with IBS. any help would be appreciated.

Hi Maureen. no I can't have dairy stuff.it makes me very sick &and brings me up in blisters .had tests over years which shows intolerance to it.do you find it hard to keep you weight up as well because of IBS.

I'm okay at the moment but in the past I have had problems. I took slimfast (which I know sounds daft) but I found if I had that for lunch I could get away without going back to the loo (generally) and this helped me gradually put some of my weight back on. But it has milk of course. I have also used complan in the past. This can be mixed with water. Can you drink things like almond milk etc?

I have just looked up the ingredients for complan but it has cow's milk in so that would be no good! Still thinking that one of the alternative milks might be an option for you.

Nice to hear your OK at the moment. Have tried almond coconut rice milk. tried when I was in hospital in the 80s what I recall was buffalo milk. They all make me ill.have cornflakes in hot water-it's quite nice.couldn't have school milk.don't think it's daft you having slim fast . after all any food that seems to be alright for you is better than no food isn't it.

Not what you're looking for?
