Hi I have had IBS d for years, I am now on citalopram to help with the anxiety but the urgency of needing a loo really gets me down. I feel I can do well with certain diet restrictions but then it all happens again and I am back at the beginning. Thinking of trying FODMAP don’t know what sebo is?

SIBO is small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. There is a test for it and it is treated with antibiotics. Have you had proper investigations to eliminate any other bowel condition before IBS was diagnosed? My urgency was finally diagnosed as Bile Acid Diarrhoea and is now controlled with medication. This was after 40 years. You can look it up at bad-uk.org. You can struggle for years with diet, but if there is an underlying medical condition you'll never get anywhere.
Sorry not responded earlier, I have increased my citalopram and thought it was really working, but hey, back to how it was. I don’t know where to go next, a dietician, gastroenterologist, nutritionist ? Does anyone else have the experience of eating a meal and literally within minutes having explosive diarrhoea, once it’s gone absolutely fine again?
