Diverticulitis - what are your experiences?

Hi i would be really grateful for anybody's accounts of their diverticulitis. What were the initial symptoms and how it progressed? How long did it last? How did you deal with it - diet? And did you have antibiotics/hospitalisation/rest at home? Did you work out what the trigger was? Many thanks in advance x

NOT NICE 75 years old have been giving myself colonic irrigation for 5 years - not nice but talk to the RIGHT PEOPLE - good luck

Thank you. I take it the colonic irrigation helps to keep things clearer and calmer... ? The right people? You mean in terms of specialists? I have been diagnosed with ‘severe’ diverticular disease. I am just emerging from an unpleasant diverticulitis flare up.

I have moderate diverticular disease in my sigmoid colon but never had diverticulitis. The diverticular are just there and don't seem to be the cause of my pain which is generally central to lower right. Diverticular is on the left
