Hi everyone, first post here. Hope some of you can help..
For the past 2 years every morning when I wake up I have the total urge to go, stool is usually soft and fluffy and be runny too, I usually have to go twice in the morning before leaving the house. After this I am fine for the majority of the day, coming up between 5-6pm I have really bad pains and have to run to the toilet.. it’s usuaully very explosive diharrea - whether or not I’ve had dinner. After about 40mins to and hour the pain would subside and I would be fine.
I’ve tried Imodium and buscopan with little change.
When I work back shift this can be very difficult being in a customer facing role for running off to the toilet
Any advice / tips would be great

Have you seen your Doctor? They usually give you meberverine, which I find better than buscopan. Tablets are not the long term solution, they are for occasional use if you have a flare up. I don't think immodium is the answer, that is just a very short term fix, you need to find the cause. It could be anxiety and stess with work. As you say you have a problem early evening after work, is it work? If not, it is usually all down to food allergy or intolerance.
You should always start with a food diary and see if you can find any trigger(s). Everyone is different. Think about what you are eating, and when. Some trigger foods will make you react at once, whereas others cause a problem later. Don't eat late at night. It is trial and error over time, but once you know, you can soon adapt. Lots of info on this site, read some of the posts.
96gm1: You should get your doctor to prescribe either Welchol or Colestipol for you. These 2 drugs STOP diarrhea in it's nasty little tracks! It's a miracle drug in my humble opinion. I have my life back now!
