Some eat Prunes. (don't forget protein and fats)

Do you have IBS-D or do you also get other forms as well (and when)

FODMAP is ok if for any individual it tells you what not to eat (but I think its all too easy to get confused). You then need to substitute with a more diverse diet. So I'd always look to make my diet more diverse not to totally exclude anything (Unless its something I really don't like eating)

Best wishes,

Ernest

Been tested. Dr said I am not gluten intolerant. I have a banana every day which helps. Thanks for your reply.

I had the test but it came back negative but she said it dont mean im not intolerant it just means i havent got the auto immune desease celiac.

It not the same, that why the gastro said try it for two weeks and ur know, i did and i knew! As soon as i stopped eating it my ibs cleared up by about 60% and i started goin to the toilet everyday.

Intolerance is not same as allergic.... intolerance means ur body doesnt like something and it will build up and let u know it not happy by mayb gibing u hives or ibs problems or diarrhoea or constipation.

Allergic will hurt ur body more seriously hence blood tests

Hi thanks for your reply I do have pain for hours after the loo, I believe through not finishing properly. Had a colonoscopy which the hospital said I have a tortuous colon. I believe that is part of the cause of my problem.

Magnesium tablets will help but its not advisable to take them long term as it can strain the kidneys. Try milled flaxseed but the key is liquids with it. Sprinkle on cereals, stir into any soups, sauces etc but drink lots of water. Best option is to soak a few teaspoons in water overnight and drink it in the morning in juice, milk, whatever you prefer. That way the seeds have already soaked up a lot of water before consumption. It will set you up for the day too as its got loads of other nutrients.
