Cinema Popcorn 😢

I went to see Bohemian Rhapsody at the cinema yesterday early evening. I was so engrossed in the film I ate way more popcorn than I realised. I’m having horrible spasms, gurgling noises and mass bloating today. Ive done this before and it took almost a week to get out of my flare up. I only learn when it’s painful enough. Another simple pleasure gone 😔

Pretty common for popcorn to be a trigger for many - Its the kernels for me I think. Great fiber, the one thing a gut issue ridden person like me cannot easy digest. :(

Sorry to hear that.

Not sure if you have a sweet tooth, but try making your own popcorn, and put a DVD on the telly. You can just lightly salt it - not the same I know, but hope it wont do such bad things.

Make sure if you try that to put a top on the frying pan and go gentle on the heat - just enough to get them popping.

If you can avoid sweet stuff, after a bit your brain forgets about it, and you really wont miss it.

That’s rotten 😞. I know exactly how you feel - IBS just robs us of fun a lot of the time. When we go to the cinema, I sneak in my own snacks and only what I know is enough for me to eat. Means I avoid any unpleasant tummy episodes after. Xx

I suffer with IBS ,used to love popcorn but apparently it is one of the worst things for our problem ,love chocolate but I can't eat that either ,so when im feeling miserable I buy my self a bunch of flowers ,but life does get you down with this horrible problem doesn't it .

We certainly pay a high price for indulging that’s for sure. I have ibs and Barrett’s oesophagus and I’m wheezing and gurgling and bloated still from Saturday. But I know I’m blessed too, have a fab husband who buys flowers for me every single week. He’s the best 😊
