Adrenal Gland Tumour - unsure of IBS link

Hi guys, long post alert. I have posted several messages on here relating to my IBS troubles but never thought I would be writing something like this. My Doctor sent me for an Ultrasound of my ovaries and pelvic area last month (ovaries to determine if pain in lower right side could be from them and pelvis due to the A&E constipation scenario just to check it out while I was getting it done). After Ultrasound I was asked to stay on for CT scan as something had showed up. After CT scan I was told to wait for results from my Doctor. The next day without even hearing anything from my DR I got a call to say I had been referred for an MRI so obviously I didn’t know why and I was totally panicked!! I seen my DR on the Thursday as she currently only works part time unfortunately and she then told me i have a mass on my adrenal gland resembling a tumour! They have no idea if it is benign or malignant from the CT no idea how long it has been there. Just that it hasn’t spread anywhere, that it is totally contained, smooth edges everything looks positive but it is 6cm x 5cm x 6cm therefore a good size and pushing against other organs which will be causing me pain and annoyance!! After hearing this I waited another week to get an MRI done (and completed two 24 hr urine tests to check if it is secreting any hormones and further blood tests) and then I waited a week before I met with the endocrinology consultant at my local hospital for results of MRI, he couldn’t tell us much else than what we knew other than it doesn’t look to be secreting any hormones and hasn’t grown any from the CT scan. That everything looks positive to do with no spread etc!! This week was the worst as I thought he would be able to give us some news but he couldn’t. He was very open and honest though, a lovely man, and he talked me and my husband through all the results showed us the MRI etc and let us know that they want to take it out to explore the cells within it before they will know anymore due to its size! He also said if it were smaller they would be leaving it in and just monitoring it at this stage but because it’s so big it needs to come out as annoying me and it’s near a major vein also! Absolutely been through all the worst possible thoughts, I’ve Googled and cried my eyes out (and I know we should never google)!! He put in the referral to the Royal in Belfast and told me within 1-2 weeks it should be out as it is a red flag referral however there is only the 1 surgeon in Northern Ireland who does this type of surgery and she is on annual leave currently returning mid August so I’ve just been waiting for word, trying to get on as normal at work and at the gym etc!!Always on my mind though, just want it all over with!! The funny thing is I’ve never been healthier, I’m 32 and at a healthy bmi all my blood tests and vitamin and mineral tests came back all good, and the only thing that was slightly off was my blood platelets were sitting at 450 since 2010 (which recent blood tests have shown are back to normal again!!) The doctor said she never would have suspected anything wrong the only reason she sent me for the ultrasound in the first place is because of my history (we suffered a fatal foetal abnormality in 2016) and the fact I went to her to check everything was perfect before we tried for a baby again just so that I had made sure I had done everything on my side 100% perfect incase this ever happened again!! So due to the IBS-constipation and the pain I had from it she decided to check the pelvis area too!!!! If that had never happened I may have never found this!!!! I just hope to god that everything is ok when they get it out and if anyone has ever had anything similar happen to them please let me know. I know these are quite rare - wudnt be me if it wasn’t!! I will update you all on how I get on. My DR also doesn’t think the IBS or FFA links to this especially since the tumour is non functional however there is limited room in there so it wouldn’t help matters to do with IBS and pain on right side may be it pushing on organs!!
