I have had beginning 20 yrs ago, ibs the diarrhea kind, then a couple of years ago, boom...here comes constipation... ok...passed both of those and ok again for awhile... For the last 2 weeks I have had consistently 'mushy' (not watery) stool...usually in the morning...sometimes twice or 3 times... Not any real pain, etc...does this sound familiar and does it sound like ibs? Would appreciate hearing from you...I know I shouldn't but I tend to get 'paranoid' about 'new' bowel stuff. Thank you, people.

To all you 'veteran' IBS'ers...
Sounds fairly normal to me. I find if it’s hot weather, like it’s been in the uk for the past month then that can affect my bowels. I wouldn’t be too concerned unless you see blood.
Like me life is hell. but we after carry on . have a hell of a day today but what can we do - fight on - the never ending story x
Yes to all of it! For nine years I've been dealing with all of that...I'm now on a probiotic and magnesium supplement that has made all the difference! The probiotic has 5 strains of probiotics and 4 enzymes that go after the bad flora....it's the best one I've been on. The magnesium supplement is so gentle and I think it makes a big difference.
I have had mushy/loose, and bloating for 17 years.I had a couple of accidents about 6 months ago and had to overhaul because I was so fed up I would try anything. I already use magnesium spray and probio 7 probiotics, and a wealth of other supplements. on advice from some people on this forum ( related to my gut issues and possible inflammation) I started taking tumeric and L glutamine. I also started on, chia seeds every morning, and cut out wheat, gluten and dairy. its reduced by about 70-80 percent, no more urgent issues but some loose stools when i drink coffee or get stressed. I have autoimmune disease and not sure if the gut issues are the cause or the symptom. chia seeds defintely make it a more 'normal' toilet situation which is such a change. hope this helps
