Newbie here!!

Hi, completely new to all this!! So, i was diagnosed with ibs just over a year ago. Main symptoms were constant bloating and constipation although sometimes that can alternate with diarrhoea. They think it was originally triggered by a dodgy sauce from a restaurant which made me ill after eating it. Anyway, i cut out dairy for a while which worked a treat and slowly reintroduced it and now I'm fine. I have recently cut out onions from meals as this seemed to be a trigger and also high fibre foods are a no no!

So, Monday this week i threw a handful of leeks into a dish i was making for flavour and good grief have i paid for it since. The following morning was spent in and out of the loo for the best part of 4 hours. I took some Imodium which worked but my stomach was still making the moat awful noises. Yesterday was ok although i kept getting cramps like i needed to go but didn't then this morning at 5am ended up dashing to the bathroom yet again. Could this have just been down to the leeks ?! Never had this severe reaction to anything before 😭

Recommendation from my gastro & dietician as to leeks is to only use the green part and none of the white part.
