I have a flight soon which is around 17 hours long and my ibs flairs up when i get stressed and anxious. Airports always stress me out so if anyone had any tips with helping reduce my ibs in airports.

Airports are very stressful!!!! They are horrible. Are you anxious about the flight itself? For the flight, if needed, take a tranquilizer. For the airport, locate all the bathrooms as you move around the airport, so you always know the closest one. You can also try an immodium. If I take them, I then become constipated for a few days, so also carry a few senacot with you if you need them later.

Yes, I would take Immodium AD with you just in case, and I sometimes take a Benadryl before my flight to make me tired and more relaxed. It just kind of takes the edge off if you don't mind being drowsy!

Thanks for the tips! I might try Benadryl, how many do you usually take before a flight? Thats what triggers my ibs d is stress so making me relaxed would defo help.

Really appreciate the tips, thankyou! Yeah i reckon its basically both flight and airports just give me anxiety, since my Ibs is mainly triggered by stress and anxiety. For previous flights i have had an upset stomach in the airport but always fixed by a couple of imodiums and I'm fine on the flight. However, this is the first time i'm traveling without my family and its the longest flight i've ever had so stressing me out to the max.
