Fed up with pain
I understand and sympathise with your pain-but I need to ask has your GP given you a diagnosis?
If not think you should ask him for stool and blood tests and a colonoscopy because once you
have found out what it is your anxiety abates and you do feel you can cope. If the diagnosis is IBS
then your friends on this fab site will be able to offer you assistance. Good Luck
Hi Mark, I too have this. Have pain sometimes a stabbing dull pain under left rib cage. Sometimes just a dull ache. Never seems to end. I have constant cramping (lower abdominal) and to my left rib cage spasms. I'm overwhelmed from dealing with it all, severe IBS-C, constant weight loss over the year, cramping even after the smallest meal. I have tried everything. Fiber only makes things worse. Lots of water and exercise does nothing. Always in ER for impaction. Get dismissed by Gastroenterologist and Doctors, Colon and Rectal Surgeon. Have had numerous opinions to no avail. Several tests. Put on Bentyl, Levsin..does very little, except more constipation. Went to yet another Gastro, he did nothing, but did say I had enlarged spleen, and cyst, which might be causing pain. Going to Hematologist in two weeks and getting an upper GI and lower Bowel Follow through Barium done. Possible Diverticulitis, also have cyst by left rib and may be small hernia. Very frustrating. Just keep insisting on imaging and testing and 2nd opinion even 3rd..
I can really sympathize with you. I have been to several gastro doctors. All but this last one told me i have IBS. I have tried everything from A to Z to relieve the spasms. I get them at night. i don't know what to eat anymore. This new gastro doctor thinks it's adesions again. I have them removed in 2015. It did nothing for the pain.
It is hard I know. I can be good for weeks. Then the cramps start again.never can be sure of the triggers. It's worse when i am stressed or worried about things. I wish i could be a laid back person. I dont think many IBS sufferers are very relaxed people. We worry too much. Tried so many different things. The latest being kombucha and kefir. You can only try these and pray they work.
So true. They usually fob you off with a diet sheet. It's not like its a rare condition. I am yet to find something that works long term.
