So im new to all this, im a year in. What i have noticed is that when im constipated or needing a poop i get a low back ache and if it bad constipation( which i dont let it get to now) it will start of sciatic pain. Its like the poo is sitting on my sciatic nerve till it gets out.
Is this normal?? Does anyone else suffer with this?
I have sorted the constipation( magnesium and lactulose) im goin every day now if not twice but it
Like i can still feel it coming into colon and il get a dull back ache before it emerges.

Yes I have found that being constipated triggered my sciatica. My doctor said it's from straining but I know that even without straining I get the pain. I Googled it and found lots of other people get the same.
Ih god im so relieved it not just me. Mine started off again yesterday and no constipation actually it was oposite but all of sudden the dull ache in groin started then the pain in back and leg...
Hi, I also have the same lower back pain but always only the right side. If I dont get to the loo within minutes, sciatica rears its ugly mug every time. I find that I have to take 2 buscopan before every meal to keep myself regular and I get way less pain that way.
Yes i find same. I have started to take magnesium as it really helps get things moving and pains gone! Plus i been having osteo in pelvis area and i have a tilted pelvis which stops things flowing normally.
Stumbled across this thread and it makes interesting reading. I have been having a groin pain in the right side for ages and my doc put it down to wear on my hip but I have also noticed a connection with constipation so this was really interesting to read. I was beginning to think it was in my mind as it doesnt seem very logical that these would be connected. Having read up even more on constipation Im seeing more about magnesium and again you mention this. Can I ask what type you are taking. There seem to be sprays, tablets, drinks etc.
