I am a 27 year old male who was diagnosed with IBS last year. I currently take Liperomide 2mg capsules to slow my bowels down. I have to take two in order to have one bowel movement, two bowel movements or some times three bowel movements a day. Before taking the medication I used to open my bowels 7x a day. I'm just wondering what's causing me to have 7x bowel movements a day. Because I don't have the typical IBS symptoms. Such as: Constipation, Diarrhoea, Abdominal. Etc. I however do suffer with bloating. I eat ok. I don't eat junk food. I also don't chase fast food chains for my meals either. I just wondering if any ist has had similar experiences to mine. And if there is a cure then please somebody let me know. I have had Colonoscopys, Defecating Proctograms, Etc. Nothing showed up. Also had Bowel Retraining. Never helped.

IBS with 7x bowel movements a day.
I'm sorry to say that their is no cure for ibs I only wish there was I have had both ibs c and d. It can be caused by stress, food intolerance what beverages you drink. I'm on a gluten free and lactose free diet which defiantly helps, I've tried every medication I take merbentyl 20mg three times a day and paracetamol for the pain. I do have tramadol but tend not to take it. I also had my gall bladder out about four years ago the pain from that was excruciating!!! Because I don't have a gall bladder anymore I get heartburn or Gerd I take Omeprazole 10mg once a day. If you do find a cute please let me know I've had it for 30 yrs !!!
Have u had any antibiotics near when this started
For u? Or a illness, a case of food poisoning?
I only ask as ur gut bacteria could be all over place if u had.
I got ibs after a terrible stomach infection. The antibiotics ruined my stomach bacteria and i now have weird food intolerances and pooped ALOT!!
Never had before it just came from nowhere.
Until i saw a gastro who asked me about antibiotics and any illness it kinda clicked in my head.
So i was told to get on probiotics, digesestive enzymes, peppermint oil and a tablet called DIDA. As they said i had candida/sibo which is a stomach bacteria inbalance.
I am fine now... i still have it but no where near like i did.
Normal pooping has commenced lol.
No stomach problems aless i eat something stomach doesnt like.
I also went gluten and dairy free
I know your right. Dairy free and Gluten free are the best options. Dairy is no good for the gut or the body. I haven't had any antibiotics for a long time well over a year or two. This all started a year ago. I currently take Liperomide to slow my bowels down. The hospital say it is psychoismatic (meaning it's all in my mind). I know it's not. I don't suffer with the typical ibs symptoms: Constipation, Diarrhoea, Abdominal pain ETC. There must be a cure for this damn condition. I visited a Homeopathy website. It said to drink Ginger Tea, Take a teaspoonful of Flaxseeds twice a day, scrub your tongue with a tongue scrubber. Avoid carbohydrates. I:E: Pasta, Bread, Crackers, Cereal, Etc. And basically everything with dairy in it. For example: Cheese, Milk Chocolate, Whipped Cream, yoghurts,Etc.
