Humira for Ulcerative Colitis

Has anyone ever taken Humira and does it work? My daughter is 20 years old and has been battling ulcerative colitis for the past year. No medication is helping. Dr suggested her taking this. I read some of the side effects and it has me concerned.

Thanks Harry, I am researching. I've heard good and bad stories. I know every one has different effects, but she is almost out of options. This is the next step.

Thanks Clyde. Is this a prescription or over the counter? I've never heard of this one.

Yes. I am more into natural than meds. She is very anemic, has lost a tremendous amount of blood and has lost 9 pounds. She is already tiny and this makes me very nervous. She has done ran out of the meds the Dr has prescribed because none is agreeing with her. Causes her to flare up more. She is doing bariatrics 3 times a week and having infusions done. She is lacking lots of vitamins and I am hoping this will help her. Right now her meds are steroids and Lialda, which seems to be working well for her. BUT the bleeding hasn't stopped completely. Dr wants her to finish this course of meds and says if is still bleeding when these are finished she wants to put her on Humira.
