Wondering If Actually Have It...

I know my diagnosis isn’t confirmed yet since still ruling everything else out (have an abdominal scan tomorrow morning finally) but everything I’ve read about it has said ‘patient often feels better after release of D or after bout of C’ and I do not get that!

I’ve been on Iberogast for about a month and while it has helped ease the D effects, I’ve been more C focused...and when I do go, I often feel worse or even get pain spiking right up my back to my shoulders through my muscles.

Like today, I had felt not too bad these last two days and then today when I actually went for a number 2 after some C based issues I’ve felt like crap, stomachs cramping and nauseous non stop and my muscles in my upper body are hurting way worse after going!

Is it just me?? Could it be something other than IBS ? Does anyone else get pain or worse after going? Idk anymore....ugh...just want some answers....

Hi Keira

Sorry that you are going through a rough time at the moment but glad you have a abdominal scan, which I am thinking is now today.

I don't get diarrhoea very often or constipation (I used to get constipation quite a lot but that seems to have calmed down) but all I can say is I have never felt better after having either and you will see from reading people's posts on here that many haven't felt better either.

I have been having a bit of backache over the past couple of weeks and have backache now. When I had backache one evening I was also nauseas so took a travel sick tablet which works for me. I have had pain in my tummy, ribs, between shoulder blades, side and back since I was diagnosed with IBS back in 1996/7. Unfortunately though many illnesses/conditions present themselves similar to IBS.

I hope you get some answers following your scan.

Very best of luck

Alicia

Think I really hit a low point but yeah, I had my scan yesterday and got in to see my doc...got a new set of stuff to try since the old wasn’t working so, got some hope for success again. ^-^

I’ve got chronic muscle pain and have for over ten years undiagnosed, cause no doc seemed to care til this one, but yeah the stomach flares up and all the muscles flare up worse. Been fun ^^; sounds like you have the pain same spots I do, all the upper body.

Hope your pain eases up and you find way to stop it soon! And thank you for your kind words, Alicia. Much much appreciated.

Glad that you have some new stuff to try but you have mentioned chronic muscle pain as well, have you ever been diagnosed with ME? This is just a thought and it's the muscle pain you have mentioned that made me think about it.

My pain is getting better slowly but surely and thank you for asking but what I am doing more and more is cutting rubbish out of my diet i.e. I am making most things like my own bread, gravy, ice cream, sourdough bread and custard are the next things on my list. I am fed up with the rubbish that the manufacturers are putting in our food.

Also, I am going to start making Kefir, please see link below. I have see such good reviews on this, it works like a probiotic.

I hope things get better with you very soon.

Take care

ME? *does quick google search* No. I have no diagnosis at all for my muscle pain. I’ve been told it’s not fibromyalgia, all the massage therapists I’ve seen aren’t sure, and the last few docs I’ve asked told me I needed...sleep. Soooo I stopped asking. BUT this GP doc I’m seeing for my stomach, actually seems to care and once got this under control he’s already planned to see a neurologist to check if it could be nerve issues causing it ^-^ so that’s a good sign. But I’ll mention the ME potential to him when I see him next time and see what he thinks!

Slow but surely is at least something. I just hope it progresses and reaches a point you’re not in pain at all sooner rather than later. 😊

And agreed! There’s so much extra stuff we don’t need in the foods. Homemade is always better anyway!

I shall have a look at the Kefir. Might be a good idea if it’s a probiotic, cause the last few I’ve tried failed and had the opposite effect.

Thank you. Best of luck to you as well.

Hi there Keira

I'm so glad you are being listened to now, it's such a shame that we sometimes have to jump through so many hoops!

I thought of ME as I have a friend that has had it for years and when she first had it she struggled to lift a kettle, she sometimes gets good days. She also suffers with insomnia.

I am a great believer in your are sometimes what you put in your body i.e. if you can afford to go fully organic then do it. I can't afford all organic food but I am starting to buy the food I can afford i.e. my local Lidls now stock organic milk so that's what I am buying. I'm also avoiding any pre prepared foods, okay I might have the odd thing but certainly not much, I won't even buy myself fruit yogurts/desserts anymore as there is so much rubbish in them. I am now resorting to making all my own bread, ice cream and I am making custard tonight. Once I have finished the shop bought gravy granules I will be making my own gravy.

I had a shop bought pre-prepared curry when I was on holiday so that I could have a break from cooking a meal and I didn't really like it, much prefer my own curry.

The above is just a thought.

Take care
