Hey everyone! Newbie here! So I have suffered a good couple of years now with IBS type symptoms and not being able to go to the toilet at all.. I know certain foods to trigger it off but I've never been diagnosed... I ended up in severe pain and A&E yesterday and the doctor said I may have the start of bladder stones and I was prescribed Naproxen tablets.. If anything they are making me feel worse! Not sure if that's because my stomach is sensitive as it is! I've been told I need to be referred to a specialist now for IBS testing.. Anyone with similar probs? I suffer with bloating, react to most goods other than fish veg etc.. Bread doesn't have too much effect on me but pasta, potatoes etc do! I suffer with my skin as well which I'm guessing is all linked! Ever since I had been on antibiotics for my skin felt like it gave me a yeast infection on the under layer not sure if this would be possible!? Help!!!!

I think it would be good for you to ask your GP for a referral to a gastroenterologist. I would love to be taking Naproxen again as it holds down the pain from osteoarthritis but it is not good if you have issues with your gut. Psyllium Husk (not powder or capsules) in a BIG glass of water bulks up and softens the poo. Google Monash University FODMAP diet - that has helped me a lot. Good Luck!
Hi there, I'm glad you are being sent to a specialist to see if you have IBS. I am cutting out certain foods slowly but surely but what struck me with your post is I also have skin problems; not sure if anyone else on this site has also had this.
I hope you find some answers when you see the specialist.
Hi if you're taking naproxen you should be given a stomach liner tablet. I understand your frustration. I'm a fellow sufferer x
