Hi Lawman17, I have had colitis & IBS for 40+ years, my whole adult life. Needing to use loo multiple times like yourself. When I was pregnant with my first child I was referred to a Consultant who, because of my almost full time pregnancy, wouldn’t prescribe anything other codeine phosphate prior to delivery with the understanding that I would be investigated later on. That was back in the late 60’s when little was known about colitis and IBS didn’t exist. The codeine phosphate had made it possible to get 4 hours respite and so over the next 40 years I would take it 1/2hr prior to leaving home knowing that I was ‘safe’. I have travelled to the USA, Malaysia as well as long car rides, taking codeine phos every 4 hours up to a max of 240mg. and never had an accident (came close a few times!) but it made my life worth living. Nothing else I tried ever gave me the same confidence to travel and I am now 72 years old. I don’t know if this helps, but it worked for me.
