I have been suffering from IBS for as long as I can remember. In the last 2 years I have had 2 colonoscopies and an MRI and numerous blood tests and stool samples.I also suffer from psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
Its got so bad, I have to take a changing bag everywhere I go and I'm having numerous "accidents" where I don't reach the toilet on time. At nearly 46 years old I'm at my wits end and struggling to cope.
My Gp just keeps prescribing me one tablet after another and none of them seem to help
Is there anyone on here that also has P & PA that would care to private messge me to talk about treatments?

The past couple of years at age 45 I started having accidents. at the beginning of this year I decided to do something about it myself. I attempted the low fodmap diet . it helped a lot but not perfect. started seeing a nutritionist around August and have made tremendous improvement. no more accidents! I was eating too much of certain low fodmap foods which made them high fodmap. I am getting ready to have a SIBO test next week . honestly I feel so much better than I ever thought I would . good luck
Ive also attempted the low fodmap diet but that was years ago when it started to get worse. I've had no offer of a nutritionist so I might see if I get get seen by one.
Have you tried your own intolerance tests ?
You could leave one food group out of your diet, like dairy, for at least 2/3 weeks keeping a food and symptom diary to see what changes there might be
If you have become intolerant to, say, lactose then medication could be making things worse as a lot of tablet medication contains lactose
Yes I've tried leaving out certain foods, it always seemed to improve for the first two-three weeks then it would go back to how it was before. I eat very little wheat/gluten now, have the occasional piece of cheese and thats it on the diary front I try to stick to vegetables as my wife is vegan but occasionally I have chicken. Ive tried eating wheat free products and they just make it worse.
