It's been 3 hours since my last piece of toast and i'm starting to feel the hunger pangs already. I find when I don't eat breakfast, i'm less hungry. I often go 24 hours a day without food but that's by choice and having someone tell me i can't makes me want to eat more. I also tend to drink more fizzy drinks so I guess that helps with the not feeling hungry part.
Anyway, I wanted to ask about what fruit juices you can drink? I have a few Robinson's ones but there either Blackcurrant in have Barley in. The only one I found with no Fibre in is Orange. Will that be Ok as it does have Carbohydrates in and I know Fibre is a Carbohydrate?
I also wanted to ask if anyone knows what conditions stop you from having Entonox? I really don't want to be sedated but I have a few health conditions and don't want to go tomorrow and find I have to be sedated.
The nerves are starting to kick in now, I know I need to have it done and i'm trying to think positive thoughts, but this morning I got some of my symptoms. they seemed to of eased now but if they come back, I get inflammation and then the Colonoscopy will hurt and I don't have a very high pain threshold to begin with.
Any advice/help appreciated

You shouldn't have anything with red colouring so no blackcurrant type squashes, probably not the barley one either but not sure on that and no fruit juice. I was allowed clear soups, jelly and black tea as well as squashes and water of course.
If you feel pain then for heaven's sake go for sedation but you must have someone to drive you home afterwards, I have had many done and never in a million years would I attempt it with just entonox.
The squash doesn't have Barley or anything in the ingredients and no Fibre listed on the nutritional bit but wanted to check it was ok before drinking. It does have real fruit in every drop though, apparently. Would that class as a fruit juice or would it be ok to drink?
I haven't got anyone who can drive me home afterwards, there all in work as it's 8.30am in the morning. I've heard a lot of people say it doesn't hurt just uncomfortable and my symptoms from this morning have gone so the inflammation must of gone down and hopefully won't be a problem. I'm more nervous about the Moviprep and getting through this no eating without getting one of my migraines.
If the gas & air doesn't work, can it be stopped and switched over to sedation? I thought it was one or the other?
You can't have sedation unless you have a lift home and someone to stay with you for 24 hours.
You may be one of the lucky few who doesn't find it painful, I however have found each one extremely painful even with sedation, a lot does depend on the experience of the person on the other end of the camera, some are better than others !
The drinks should be ok as long as there are no fruity bits in it but check with your day surgery unit if you aren't sure.
I haven't got anyone to pick me up though that's the problem.
I'm actually feeling calm about it, whether that will change as it's about to start is another thing though.
I just want it over with.
colonoscopy does hurt anyway partly down to the amount of stuff they bloe the bowel up with-I have had it 3 times and have sworn that next time I WILL have a sedation-they try to talk you out of it-be firm with them.
No one should go 24hrs without food-I did that and got formyself gastric ulcers that bled and had to be rush to hospital. Apparently the stomach starts to attack itself !
Had my Colonoscopy on Wednesday and it wasn't as bad as I was thinking it was going to be. It did hurt a little after the scope was put in and then around a couple of loops but I get worse pain during my period.
Glad I only had the gas and air as that was all I needed...I must be one of the lucky ones.
Everything was fine and he just took some biopsys for further testing. Just to see if anything comes up under the microscope.
He thinks it's just IBS but I'll be talking to him about it during my follow up as when I have my symptoms I get inflammation and a raised Lymph count as when I don't have symptoms there is no inflammation. I didn't have any symptoms on the day so I'm a little worried it's not gonna show anything to back me up.
