Have had diarrhoea and painful stomach pains for about a month now.

I have been suffering from diarrhoea for about a month now, occurring on most day. Some days worse than others. I feel bloated and as if my clothes are too take and suddenly begin to have very painful stomach pains before I go to the toilet. On some days I will go about 2-3 times. I also become very dizzy and weak at points. Have seen the doctor but have not been diagnosed with anything. Anything I could do to help? Or any idea what it may be?

Are you taking anything for it eg Imodium? Any new stress in your life at the moment (apart from feeling unwell)? When my bowel seems a bit too active I use Mebeverine which helps a bit. Have you tried cutting out dairy? Go back to your GP if not getting better. Good luck.

I'd recommend immodium too when it gets bad as this helps loads. I use buscopan for the pain and cramps helps really well. Going the toilet helps and gets rid of cramp but not easy to go all the time is it.

You need to get a diagnosis from a consultant because your symptoms are not right

Go back to your GP and ask for a hospital referral

My doctor reassured me that it does the body no long term damage taking Imodium whenever I need it, so don't worry about taking it. In my mind, it is the only thing that seems to stop diarrhoea. Buscopan sometimes helps with the pain as well. However, if the dizzyness and weakness continues I would get that checked out at the doctor.

You need to have a colonoscopy if you haven't already. See a GI doctor soon!

Thank you all so much for the advice and help, am getting a blood test soon to see whether there is an infection. Also having a check up soon too, have been taking buscopan which has seemed to relax the stomach pains but still quite a lot of diarrhoea. Thank you all so much!
