Hi everyone.

I have had ibs-d for a number of years and lately i have found silicol gel which has helped me a lot. Apart from the odd bout i have been much better. The only thing is i still have the urgency it comes on all of a sudden that i need to go and i literally have about 5 mins to find a toilet. I joined a walking group when i retired a few years ago and i love it and the people but im so anxious that i might need to go while im out, luckily i havent had any accidents but a few near misses. Does anyone know about anything that might at least give me a bit of warning and time to get to a loo?

Thanks.

I know that sometimes I experience urgency but can avoid needing to dash to the loo by relaxing - sometimes the feeling passes entirely. Alternatively, would something like imodium help? I don't think it would act that quickly, but if you took it before a walk could it be beneficial?
