Now that I have bought some yakult I realise it is a fermented drink, and it contains sugar. Not sure I should take it now as I usually avoid any fermented food, and keep yeast and sugar to the minimum. Surely it will make bloating and gas worse? Anyone got any ideas on this?

Yakult
Hi casares8,
Yakult seems to help me with my IBS. I've been cutting dairy from my diet and this is also in Yakult but a small amount doesn't seem to do any harm. I've been taking Yakult every morning, Fybogel twice a day and cutting out dairy for around a month now and feel miles better with my IBS.
Hope this helps x
A timely not quite so sweet,I take activia with porridge eacham
Yakult caused extreme diarrhoea for me! It's made me very wary about having any of that sort of drink. However, it clearly works well for other people so it really is a case of try it & see how it affects you.
I'm on my third day of taking Yakult. Waiting to see if it has any effect.
I also think Yakult has been helping! I am not sure other dairy products agree with me at the moment but yakult has only helped! id say it is worth a try! You will know pretty quickly if its not for you!
Taking probiotics (25billion CFU) a day is great! But Yakut is made for kids it's full of sugar and milk which is bacteria and mucus. So stay away. Try kombucha or coconut kefir
