Hi

Yes definitely, but often endometriosis symptoms are very similar so I would advise any woman with ibs and period problems to get checked out, it was only after I changed to a female doctor that she got me seen by gynecology although the only was to find out for sure is to have a laparoscopy.

Hope this helps.

I had fibroids. So with the Ibs and the fibroids I was a mess, but I got fixed lol so I only have the IBS now.

I've noticed for many years that certain ibs symptoms appear when I start my period, not necessarily worse but with no other obvious cause. I read somewhere that ibs and other digestive problems can have something to do with the nerves, like mixed signals or a bad connection, so I think it has something to do with period pain cramps being confused with ibs cramps and so causing the other symptoms that follow. That's just what I think.

Yes, my periods are the same, make my ibs really flare up, painful, diarrhoea, acid, it hurts to sit down, my doctor put me on the pill& said to only have a period break every 3 months, this helps a lot, as im not having to deal with this every month. Glad im not the only one going through this.

Yes much much worse!! Just terrible and disabling! I try to stay home and away from work or travel and drink hot read take painkillers. And heat pads on the area all day long. Along with the ibs getting worse it's apparently normal but regular people don't fell it that much. I started taking the combined pill which has helped the heaviness and pain of it a bit .... I have endometriosis and PCOS along with ibs -d so having by period is just horrible :-(

I have noticed over the years that towards the end of my period each month, I'd get very bad IBS/diarrhea. I linked it to the amount of painkillers I take, though. I take quite a bit of ibuprofen/lysine, especially the first three days and I think that is what does it for me. The nutritionist I am seeing says that hormones play a big part as well.

Not that it is funny, but then again with IBS you need to find some comfort in laughter because we have unbelievable things going on. I am a witness when I did have one yes it was worse.
