Bloating 😓

I have a serious issue with bloating after I've eaten! I can simply just have a sandwich and my belly begins to look like I'm 6 months pregnant! I'm only 16 years old and it makes me very self concious to wear tight tops or belly tops now. Can anybody suggest anything that can help take the bloatedness away? Thanks in advance x

Try eating gluten free bread for a week and also maybe use a different milk like coconut, rice or oat. Maybe your digestive system doesn't like these things.

As you are so young maybe you should see your GP first if you haven't already done so just to rule out something else.

your bloating may be caused by swallowing a lot of air as you eat. If you eat fast or whilst moving around or not chewing your food enough. Make sure you eat when you have time to sit down and digest your food without doing anything physical immediately afterwards for at least half hour.

Yes I can suggest you buy Symprove. Look it up. I am a lot older than you but I have been bloated for ever. Go to your gp to make sure everything is ok first. I found symprove 3 weeks ago and the embarrassing bloating is gone. All the best

I don't think that you can take the bloating away - you will need to modify your diet to stop it happening. One form of IBS causes fermentation to happen in your gut and this produces gas - hence the swelling. It could be caused by the bread (wheat) in your sandwich or by the filling, or both.

To start with I'd suggest trying gluten free bread - it is a bit more expensive but if you have IBS you'll get other symptoms too. IBS sufferers can get bloated from all sorts of things such as wheat, apples, milk, garlic, baked beans, fizzy drinks, etc. IBS is not a dangerous illness but you should see a doctor for diagnosis if you think you may have it.

BTW some shops sell ready made gluten free sandwiches

Hi, i feel your pain! I try peppermint tea and a product called 'de-gas'. Speak to the pharmacist or doctor about an over the counter or natural product to try. Also, i find if I eat small, frequent meals the bloating is less severe. try not to get too hungry or eat too large a serving. finally, I find the fodmap diet and limiting certain things like fizzy drinks or white bread can help, keep a diary of symptoms and try and find out if certain things are contributing. also stress can play a big part! especially for me.
