Has taking a CAT scan TRULY ever helped anyone?? If so, how (really appreciate answers)

I am debating on whether or not to do a CAT scan... but would very much appreciate your experiences, if anything about it actually helped you... if you don't mind sharing, I would genuinely appreciate hearing from you. Thank you... I hope you all have a good day.

It is totally non invasive and gives the medical profession a better idea of what's happening. I've taken my mother to have them a number of times. Lay down - enter a machine, pictures are taken and out you come. Not sure how the images - head to toe help IBS - I would have though Endoscopies etc may be more useful - though of course your GP and consultants know more than me :)
