Appendicectomy and IBS

I underwent elective surgery 8 days ago which has flared my IBS symptoms considerably. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, how long did it take for symptoms to settle?

Hi Kerry, thanks for response. Yes I am taking a good probiotic so hopefully this will start to settle things down. The surgeon thinks he may have found early crohns in my appendix so I am praying that its not that causing the problem.

this is how my daughters symptoms began she was misdiagnosed with tummy upset and then her appendixe burst and further complications,,, she is now 10 and suffers from ibs... so what im saying is that i think i the surgery was a contribitution to her ibs,, and maybe no the symptoms wont gett any better...
