Brain TB-how to cope with headaches

I was diagnosed with tuberculomas with multiple ring enhancing n edema in july 2016 . Since then I am on ATT. Now I have completed 17 months of treatment. I was also given steroids n streptomycin injections.

Though my condition has improved but sometimes I still have cold headaches and cold radiating pain in my legs. But they aren't very severe as before . They are tolerable.

This year I am appearing for 12th class board xams which will be the basis of college admissions. I am not able to study long hours. I get tired early. My academic performance has drastically dipped due to headaches n I have to sleep for 10 hrs

Please suggest me to how cope with my headaches so that I can study as I used to

Dear Rina-Roy,

Congratulations on completing such a long and difficult course of treatment for TB! I am sorry that it has left you in such poor health though.

Unfortunately, it can take a long time to recover from TB even after the bacteria has been cleared by the antibiotics. Sadly, TB can also damage the body beyond repair - particularly if it is not treated quickly.

Have you spoken to your doctor? It may be that they can prescribe something that can help with your headaches. The only other advice I can give is to study in small stretches and rest in between. Perhaps thirty minutes of rest for each hour of study. If it helps to know this, sleep is a good aid for study as it helps your brain to memorise what you have read.

I hope you get the help you need to get on with your studies - and remember, you have already graduated TB which is an amazing achievement.
