strange findings!
I was taking my peak flow yesterday and just wondering why I always get higher at the gp, than I get at home. First I though it was just down to the pf meter, but then I thought, hang in the cardboard tube at the gp, is wider than the plastic mouthpiece I have on mine. So the scientist in me thought,

I was doing very well with my Prednisolone wean last July/August I was on 60mg 12 tablets (5mg in each tablet) gradually this was reduced down with the help of my respiratory team to 12.5mg everything was going ok, yes, I was experiencing some side effects because of the steroid reduction but I was coping

Jogging
Hi I have been asthmatic since I was born and always had problems when I run as I get weasy quite easily. I spoke to a nurse when I went to the asthma clinic and I asked her about jogging as this is something I would love to do but always been put off by the fact that when I run fast I get breathless

Peak flow - are you meant to use muscles?!
This may be a bit stupid, but... EDIT yes it is a really stupid question which I should have guessed the answer to, but will leave it up for fellow blondes ;) Had norovirus yesterday (ugh, not recommended, but glad it didn't last too long). As a result of throwing up way too many times, my chest muscles

Long Term Prednisone Trade-offs
At the end of last week my doctor proposed that I stay on 40mg of pred for another few weeks, possibly up until I see the pulmonologist at the end of February. We discussed this further today. He's not exactly excited about the idea and neither am I, but we both agreed that it was a question of trade-offs

Should I be taking this seriously?
Hi (again!) I'm not really sure what to do. I went to see my GP last Thursday, he basically said there was nothing more he could do with regards to my asthma and has referred me to a specialist, saying I'd hear from them in the next few weeks. Since then I have been coughing a ridiculous amount, to

Hi all, Well...I'm moaning about nothing really, and I apologise, but despite taking more Symbicort and salbutamol than I could count, and having singular at night as well, my peak flow is hovering around 350 and I'm feeling pretty rubbish. I saw my GP last Wednesday (about something totally different

Recording Peak Flow Readings
Hello all - I hope you're all doing well :) How many of you don't like to have to write your peak flow readings down and then remember where the piece of paper is? I know that I absolutely hated it and more often than not I managed to loose the annoying bit of paper or it would rip. :( So instead of
