Vorinostat

I have been invited to participate in a clinical trial (phase 2) at the Univ of WA, Fred Hutch cancer center: Vorinostat to Augment Response to 177 Lutetium-PSMA-617 in the treatment of patients with PSMA- low metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer: VALOR TRIAL.

HDACi = histone deacetylase inhibitor [To date, four HDAC inhibitors, Vorinostat, Romidepsin, Panobinostat, and Belinostat, have been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration.

The combination of vorinostat and melatonin induce a downregulation of the transcription factor EB and oligomerization, which increased apoptosis related gens, hence, cells apoptosis was activated [161].

Has anyone heard of Keytruda and Vorinostat being tested together? And am I right to feel like this might not be the best first line of treatment for my dad at this point? I am an only child, so I'm doing the best I can for my parents and my dad.

I felt much better about the clinical trial and we opted for Moffitt and the Keytruda/Vorinostat clinical. Dad was feeling positive and ready to get this started.
