Amiodarone Report
Is Amiodarone the drug of last resort, which produces terrible side effects. Or The best drug for arrythmia? My consultant says that it will improve the chance of a successful cardioversion and will help keep my heart in sinus rhythm afterwards. Amiodarone has already improved my heart significantly

Rising resting HR
Not so much an AFib post, but 6 weeks after a successful cardioversion I'm keeping a very close eye on my HR and this week it seems to be rather elevated. Each morning I wake and check my overnight resting HR according to my Fitbit. Whereas last week and previous I'd be at 60bpm or just below while sleeping

Hi, I was diagnosed with Paroxysmal A Fib earlier this year. I’m taking flecainide 100mg twice a day and Edoxaban 60 mg one a day. A Fib is pretty much under control. Yesterday I was walking up a slight incline when my legs began aching and I became breathless I stopped for a while and things calmed

Quivering sensations
I hope you are all wellMy question : Has anyone experienced episodic "quivering" sensations that are very brief, 10 seconds or so? I've had something similar before, several years ago and wore a Zio patch for 2 weeks but never picked up any A-fib only PACs and PVCs. I am now 67 year old dx with paroxsymal

Atrial fibrillation in early 50s for no obvious reason
Hi, I'm 51 years old, fit, healthy, no high BP, don't smoke, eat mostly a plant based diet and had my first afib episode a month ago. A&E couldn't find a cause and put it down to dehydration and over doing it. They sent me away with no medication. A fews weeks later I started getting migraines with aura

beta blockers and anticoagulants
Medscape posted a long article about a research on beta blockers and how few RCTs have been done on their efficacy for AF. It was hard to interpret but seems that for some folk they make AF worse and for many the side effects are too negative. There’s also an article on over prescribing of anticoagulants

After Effects from a Triple Heart Bypass
Back in September 2022 I had a cardiac arrest and was very lucky to have had a paramedic nearby with some 14 years experience. This lady performed cpr on me and called for a defibrillator. I received one shock and regained consciousness after which I was taken to hospital and on 2nd November 2022 I

Hello to all you wonderful people. Without getting into a lot of detail, I will try and get straight to the point. I’ve been told I can make a novel out of one tiny incident…..lol After having a Holter monitor for 72 hours, my cardiologist wanted to see me right away. He said he was concerned with

Stress echo after effects
I had a dobutamine stress echo on Sunday which was pretty unpleasant and triggered my paroxysmal AFib. The AFib reverted on Monday morning but I am not feeling well since. Did anyone else have any after effects please?

cardioversion within 3 weeks of ablation?
Despite playing by the book and doing everything I could, I’ve been back in persistent AFib for 4 days since my ablation two and a half weeks ago. The arrhythmia team had me in for an ECT today and are arranging an appointment for a cardioversion possibly this Saturday. Just wondering if anyone else

Informal Survey for Afib Sufferers
I have had to cut out many foods and drinks from my diet because of celiac disease and problems with trapped gas which were triggering my Afib. Solving my digestive issues has been very effective in also eliminating Afib episodes. My "survey" question is: Would you share with forum readers what foods

Post ablation fatigue - update
Hi all At just over four months since my 7th June ablation here's an update on how things have gone. Overall the experience was not trivial. The whole thing was exhausting. The recovery from general anaesthetic was unexpectedly unpleasant. During the three month blanking period I was taking flecainide

help please with COVID and pred
I rested positive last Monday. (I fainted and was sick). Was on 8 mg Pred. Put it up to 10 mg. My daughter looked after me. She tested positive yesterday and had to go home. I am trying to cope on my own but it is difficult even going downstairs. I feel ill. I can’t take a big dose of

Does donating 1 liter of blood increase chance of going back into Afib?
I had surgical ablation on 9/8. Stayed in sinus rhythm for 2 weeks then back to Afib. I had a cardioversion 2 weeks ago and have stayed in sinus. I need to have 1 liter of blood drawn because my iron levels are too high. Does anyone know if taking out that much blood will increase my chances of going

1 ablation 3 cardioversions
I’m 81. My afib was first diagnosed in 2020 but I’m sure it started well before. In 2021, I was prescribed diltiazem at ER. The next evening, after lying on my side in bed watching Masterpiece Theater for 2 hours, I stood up … and blacked out, falling and breaking my arm. I have low blood pressure, never

please am I able to have some help :(
I have been experiencing a strange range of symptoms of a long period of time and they’re all starting to link to maybe my liver. I will go to my doctor as soon as possible but is this stuff I shouldn’t be worried about? I’m 27y F for reference. Background - •Blotchy hands as long as I can remember

One failed catheter ablation in Jan 2023, massive worsening of symptoms in July 2023 clearly indicating vagal nerve involvement. My very nice cardiologist (Professor) recommends another cath ablation or drug therapy which I know will not work, e.g. can't breathe well after betablocker and developed extreme

Pre afib signs
Does anyone else have any pre afib symptoms? I usually get them an hour or so before it appears. My HR shoots up to over 100 for a second and I can feel it in my chest and my HR drops down to normal but I can sense something is going on but HR still around 55-60. Then may 30 to 60 minutes later it hits

Flecainide for chemical version
Persistent AF for over two years punctuated by NSR for 8mths after first cardioversion but only 2 weeks after second. Now on digoxin & sotalol which controls the rate well but limits activities. Clinic suggest trying Flecainide to see if it will chemically induce NSR. Any experiences with this approach
