Ventolin before preventer
I'm three weeks post severe asthma attack! Have had some of my meds changed and been told to use my salbutamol 20 mins before my two preventer inhalers and take everything through a spacer. I'm happy with this but when I spoke to another asthma sufferer she said 'oh I thought that was not considered

Lung Volume Reduction using Pulmonary Valves. (Revisited)
The GPs agreed and I then used the Atrovent combined with
Ventolin
(Salbutamol) several times a day. This was much more satisfactory for me, although it added to the complications of taking my drugs.

Mild Wheezing
I'll experiment with
ventolin
tonight to see if it goes away. I've also been coughing more than I usually do. I'm wondering if it could be due to post nasal drip? My peak flow isn't lower than normal. But it's triggered by such typical asthma triggers, so I'm confused. Can anyone relate?

I do not get much relief from using the blue
ventolin
inhaler. Is there any alternative? I also have aclidinium bromide which is good but not for frequent use - only twice daily. Have also not got clear of chest infection - on doxycycline and steroids again for 4th time. Any comments? jks

Not sure anymore
Since then I have had
ventolin
,qvar, symbicort and fostair. I also use montelukast. They only thing that has helped me is prednisolone - 40mg a day for 8 days and I am good for four or five weeks. The inhalers do very little. A blood test shows raised ige of 527 but no triggers.

Over the counter Ventolin
Does anyone know if you can still get
Ventolin
over the counter? I thought I had a backup inhaler but it seems I must have used it an not replaced it, and now I don't have a great deal left. I'm using it quite a lot so don't want to be left without any.

Inhalers
After quitting smoking for 2 months I noticed I was struggling with my breathing, got
ventolin
and symbicort which were working really well, I was able to talk easier and wasn't having to breath as hard, went for a PFT numbers were not bad other than my fef which were on the low side, given my age (31

More prone to viruses, generally?
Before I was on the dreaded Clenil, and
ventolin
as and when, but then I ended up with Prednisolone for nearly three weeks, and since then symbicort 200/6 8 puffs per day (as my three months post asthma attack is now up I have just started reducing that dose). The symbicort has helped big time.

rationing Ventolin
I get panicky if I don't have a
ventolin
with me. so I need to have more than one available to me. I understand that it is better to get prevention correct so reducing the need for

.

Possible help
I don't really get flare ups hut I used
ventolin
occasionally. I believe the boost of magnesium and cod liver oil has done it. Anyone else using.

Chest infection recovery ..again
Again I took the antibiotics, doubled my preventer and used
ventolin
as necessary which was quite frequently. After 6 days of antibiotic I returned to the gp as I felt no better, 9 days now of the symptoms.

Change of inhalers.
I now have a cough and cold and pretty much permanently have my
Ventolin
in my hand. Has anyone else been in this situation and does anyone know if I am entitled to ask to have Seretide prescribed again? Why take away an inhaler that has worked for many years, I just don't get it.

a fib and asthma
Hi, my son (47) has just been given a new inhaler (clenil modulate), having used only
ventolin
for years. He has a fib, like me. He noted that every time he uses the inhaler (clenil mod) it seems to trigger a fib. Has anyone else ever heard of this reaction, or experienced it themselves? JanR
