Hi, I'm perimenopausal and my hormone dips have thrown up digestion, hyperosmia, brain fog issues and because of lack of appetite I have become malnourished and very low on ferritin despite trying the super heme from 3 Arrows. I've had some private bloods done. Notable results are:- T3 2.97 T4

The Differential Diagnosis of Discrepant Thyroid Function Tests: Insistent Pitfalls & Updated Flow-Chart Based on a Long-Standing Experience
We often see members posting results which, at least initially, are odd and maybe make little sense. This paper recognises and discusses such test results. Quite long and takes some effort to read - but worth it if you are interested. [i]

Could thyroid be causing the issues ?
I have enclosed my daughters ( age 22 ) last thyroid result panel. Her TSH in June last year was over 6 then swung down to under 2 in September but is on the rise again. Her T3/ T4 are always just above minimum. Her father has Hashimoto’s as did her Grandfather and so does her male cousin. Grandad unfortunately

Ferritin dropping, FT3 is not great
Hello wise ones. I'm coming up to a year since a diagnosis of Hashimotos, and on Levothyroxine. I've been trying to get the dosage increased in tiny increments of 12.5 ug after each blood test. So far I've been successful but it feels like slow progress. I'm currently taking 87.5 ug daily. My doctor

Stages of disease
I have Hashimoto's and understand that it is the cause of 95% of thyroiditis. My TSH only appeared high a year ago. Prior to that I had multiple symptoms for years. Recently I discovered that I also have antibodies and my thyroud ultrasound showed evidence of the disease. I wonder if anybody knows, if

Have you disclosed your self-medication to GP?
Hello Everybody, I've been successfully self-medicating with T4 and T3 or NDT, without GP's knowledge, since 2016. For the 30 years before that I could not get diagnosed for hypothyroidism because I am borderline central hypothyroid and my TSH never got high enough for the NHS diagnosis criteria.

Baffling results on T4&T3!
Morning all, I’m awake early feeling like total rubbish so thought I’d jump on and share in the hope that someone can shed light on my baffling blood test results which came through on Friday! I’ve been on 75mcg Levothyroxine and 15mcg T3 for the last 6 weeks (having slowly increased T3 from nothing

response regarding my endocrinologist complaint
Hi, I am sharing the letter I received from the hospital ( it’s taken them well over 6 months). I was so ‘cheesed off’ with the reply that it’s taken me 3 days to read it again and then I spilt coffee on it 🥴. I don’t know why I thought I’d get anything better, but the response is actually farcicle

question about my tsh, t3, t4 result
hi I just received my result. My TSH is 0.38 (0.40-4.5 mIU/L) , my free T3 is 3.0 (2.3-4.2 pg/ML), free T4 is 1.4 (0.8-1.8)Ng/dL). I did my test with fasting and before 9am without taking thyroid medicine. Me last two tests were similar that my TSH was lower than the normal range. My doctor kept saying

Impending GP appointment advice
Hello everyone and thankyou for your advice.I was diagnosed last August with hypothyroidism and cautiously started on 25mcg. I assume because of being over 65. Since then I have been having the usual 6-8 week blood tests and in February finally reached a dosage of 100mcg daily. My current weight suggests

Got GP appointment but what to say to get him to test anything more than TSH
Hi 3 months ago I wrote a post about my daughters results since 2018 & her vitamin levels which are dire. It has taken her this long to manage to get a telephone appointment with a GP next Wednesday. My question is what does she say to convince them to test more than just her TSH. I went through

Timing and reasons for Thyroid blood tests
Recommended by numerous research papers that thyroid testing should be in the morning and before taking daily levothyroxine TSH has a circadian rhythm and is highest in early morning and lowest in afternoon Links to a few research papers and articles https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc

DBS should I or should I not??
I'm sure everyone goes through this question over & over again!! Ten times, or more like 100 times in our heads when trying to make a decision and be happy with the choice made. I went for my assessment for dbs this week in Southmead Hospital,Bristol. I went through the test and just kept on thinking

Hi I’m new, been following the treads of other people’s issues for some time and realise I too need help to as the Gps don’t give much help or advise. Makes me feel like I’m wasting their time . Still that aside I have just read a thread about HRT and Levothyroxine. I’ve been on Kevo thyroxine for
