Stages of disease

I have Hashimoto's and understand that it is the cause of 95% of thyroiditis. My TSH only appeared high a year ago.

Prior to that I had multiple symptoms for years.

Recently I discovered that I also have antibodies and my thyroud ultrasound showed evidence of the disease.

I wonder if anybody knows, if I am now possibly? stage 4 of the disease, how many years before the TSH was showing high in a blood test the illness was present and progressing?

I very much doubt anyone can answer those questions with any precission. Not enough is known about the disease, and I expect it's different for everyone.

I'm not aware that Hashi's has numbered stages. I've never hear anyone talk about them before. However, I would imagine that you had it for a long time before the TSH finally rose high enough for anyone to take any notice. And, symptoms can appear long before any anomalies show up in blood tests.
