Nebulisers
I have a mains compressor nebuliser on loan from the hospital and for the past 3 years have also been using the omron micro air when out and also when I don't want to keep the familu awake. Recently I have found that it has started leaking, despite changing the mesh in September. I'm not sure whether

Crazy amounts of ventolin?
Last night I had a very helpful phone consult with my GP where we revisited the when-to-use-reliever issue. I was really happy at the beginning of February because things looked like they were getting better, but then the Friday before I left the USA, things started getting worse. Despite this my doctor

One year On........
ONE YEAR ON 12 months ago, I had 3 valves inserted into my right lung, in the upper lobe. This lobe had such severe damage from emphysema, that large cavities had formed where there should be alveoli, along with scar tissue. This lobe was not doing very much to help my breathing, in fact, it was

asthma cough
Just wanted a few peoples opinions on this really after having a discussion with a friend. How does everyones asthma cough present and how does it differ from a normal cough? Aside from when I have a chest infection, when I have an asthma related cough, it is generally a dry cough which tickles inside

Talking about Medication
I guess I have taken most of the medications mentioned on this site but have settled (for some time) on Symbicort (three puffs a day) and Spiriva (one puff). Atrovent, Ventolin either as a MDI or nebuliser really have no noticeable effect. Also tried OnBrez but it made my breathing worse (like a lead

To wheeze or not to wheeze!
I am really just getting so frustrated and down lately regarding my asthma. It's as if I'm being punished as a result of being a lifelong asthmatic who is perfectly capable of identifying and attempting to manage their own symptoms. For example, I know after having a cold for 1-2 weeks that in all probability

Hi everyone, I would like to know if anyone has noticed while on a Nebulising machine that their eyesight has improved?
I have been on a nebuliser for 24hours now, using it for 3 to 4 times a day, with Ventalin and Salon, Ventalin opens up the airways and Saline helps loosen the phlemn, whilst on this machine I have found that my eyesight has improved somewhat I would Love to hear from you. Take care of yourselves

Moody Monday!!
It is just gone 10 am and already I am pulling my hair out. I thought when I retired I would never have that Monday morning feeling again - wrong!! I had a terrible night but there is nothing new in that so really no problem. I heard the paper arrive at 6.45 so thought I might just as well get up,

Brain fried by pred-Need advice!
Hi all, So...the fun continues! I'm still really sick. I finally spoke to my pulmonologist today, who upped my pred. to 60, told me to do nebs every 4 hours round the clock, and said that the rattling in my chest is mucus plugs that will hopefully come up over the weekend. And if I'm not better by
