More Metabolomics
To begin at the beginning, probably the first thyroid question I ever asked was "What does thyroid hormone do?" Yes - we hear that thyroid hormone controls metabolism. Yes - we see that it reduces cholesterol. And several other effects. But we very rarely hear the details - it tends to be very much

When Bioequivalence in Healthy Volunteers May not Translate to Bioequivalence in Patients
Before going any further, this research was sponsored IBSA - who are behind the

product. There are many here who would agree that there appear to be differences between makes of levothyroxine.

Mucuna questions
For those of you who take mucuna, I'm starting mucuna and have questions. I have taken no pharmaceuticals yet for PD, although I do take antidepressants. My symptoms are relatively mild but tremor has gotten worse and is beginning to bother. There's a lot of partial answers around this site and I'm hoping

My GP won't treat my symptoms as TSH normal
Hi everyone, I am a 50 yr old male and I went to my GP 2 weeks ago as I was exhibiting many of the classic Hypothyroid symptoms: terrible sleep pattern, very fatigued in morning, sleeping 4 hrs during day just to function, apathy, depression, foggy brain, very short temper, anxiety, felt the cold easily

Explanation for why PD progression might accelerate during bouts of fever/infection?
A research paper from June 2016 [1] describes how, during bouts of fever or infection, the mitochondria within the dopamine neurons of a PWP could (attempt to) signal the immune system to kill the neuron. Basically, the mitochondria release a specific protein, which is transported to the wall

Anyone else encountered lack of Melanin production due to Hypothyroidism?
I am new on here and symptomatic of Hydrothroidism. One of my long term symptoms since being ill has been an inability to produce melanin. I went from having olive skin to pasty white skin within a shortime and began to burn terribly in the sun, (unless i wore total sunblock)) hence not being able

How Ibrutinib works over time
Hi, At ASH 2016 in San Diego, CA, I had the honor of once again interviewing Dr. Wiestner from the NIH (National Institute of Health) about the prototype BTK inhibitor, ibrutinib and how and why it works so well in CLL. We have known for a while that for its survival and well-being, our cancer is dependent

What supplements?
I've recently watched a really informative video by Dr Brad Shook. It showed how the thyroid works & what is needed to make it work effectively. I already had a pretty good idea of this but found the video really useful. I haven' posted it as I'm not sure if I'm allowed but it's easy enough to find

Head, neck and shoulder pain!
I am on 200mcg of synthroid for 6 days and on the 7th day I take 150mcg of
tirosint
. I take singular/zertec/qvar inhaler for my allergies, and I take vitamins shots and supplements in accordance to my endo's blood tests results.

Levothyroxine severe reactions
I can only think that he can take the liquid form of Levothyroxine but as yet he has not been able to approach the GP about this, does anyone get prescribed
Tirosint
and is it easy to persuade doctors to supply. Picture shows early stages of hives they get worse.

Calcitriol (Rocaltrol) + Vit. D3 = TOXICITY!
I immediately saw my new endo on Aug 20th (ditched first one who screwed me up with the
Tirosint
and always seemed a bit ditzy and would say she told me things when she didn’t, etc.) about this possibly being related to the increased severity of my brain fog/memory loss.

Inflammation. [3] SedRate, Fibrinogen, IL-6, TNFalpha.
There are a number of markers of inflammation & the perfect test to assess one's inflammation status might involve markers not previously mentioned in: "Inflammation. Thyroid Supplements
There are alot of supplements on the market which have vitamins that claim to assist on thyroid working properly. Can these supplements be taken with Levo? My doctor advised me not to take L-tyrosine with Levo, But when the Pharmacist says it should be safe to take together. Almost all the thyoid support
