I have underactive thyroid and have been stable for years. Recently I had some routine bloods which showed very low thyroid levels. My meds were increased but I still feel dreadful. Repeat bloods are just above normal. The only changes I can recall making is when I moved last year and the new pharmacy

cortisol test
Hi I have had a 9am cortisol blood test which the doctor has marked as normal the results are 148mnol/L and range is 133-537. I know it says in range but have it also says <320 should be in interpreted for a pretest. My FT4 is low 10.9 range is 12-22 all other tests seem ok My folate was 2.6 normal

RFA on 130mm goitre?
Hi all Well I have a large goitre on one side (approx 130mm) and a slightly enlarged goitre on the other side. Two years ago I noticed it and eventually saw a consultant that wanted to remove it. It's causing significant deviation of the wind pipe. I then heard about RFA and today after waiting 12 months

Neurologists with awareness of Thyroid conditions/thyroid associated conditions.
Hi, I am looking to find a Neurologist with some expertise in the Thyroid, since many of my symptoms appear to have a neurological base. Please PM me with any names you would recommend. Thanks!

No thyroid
Hi, all the posts are about thyroid problems and taking levo for underactive thyroid, I'm taking levo 50mg and 75mg on alternate days. Can anyone tell me if taking tiromel or the unipharma tablets would be any use fo r someone who has had a total thyroidectomy. At the moment I feel as though I'm sleeping

Do the TPO antibodies ever change?
Is it something that can alter or change or it a straight forward yes/no your whole life It was tested in 2021 with these results: TPO Antibodies 9 U/ml; TPO reference interval: <34 U/mL = Negative 34 U/mL = Borderline >34 U/mL = Positive TPO antibody negative. And everytime the gp has sent for a blood

What is the difference between pre-TT Graves' and post-TT Graves?
Hi all, thank you again for all the helpful comments on my last post. I'm really glad to be a part of this community - I only wish I'd known about it a little over 5 years ago, but perhaps that's a post for another day. I wanted to ask if anyone had any insight on what happens to the body when one's

Ramiprimil and thyroid med - timing of medication
Today I've taken by mistake Ramipril first instead of taking my thyroid medication first. I usually take first my thyroid med, wait for one hour with an empty stomach, and then take the Ramipril. How long should I wait to take my thyroid med after taking Ramipril, so my thyroid med is properly absorbed

Total thyroidectomy - anyone have a positive story ?
Hey everyone - I’m very nervous about having a total thyroidectomy in mid February. I have seen so many horror stories. Do any of you have an experience that didn’t turn sour ? Some have said they have levithyroxine issues … I’m not sure if this is the right decision but my heart rhythm is being seriously

Just a quick update, Endo appointment 👿
went to Royal Liverpool Endo dept , was hoping to see the consultant who is on TUK Uk list. Unfortunately this did not happen, the person I saw was less than helpful, see I can be tactful, sometimes. Introduced herself as diabetes consultant and she lived up to that name. The first thing she said

Thyroid Scan
20% of autoimmune thyroid patients never have high thyroid antibodies and ultrasound scan of thyroid can get diagnosis I’m curious to know what would show up on the scan to indicate autoimmune thyroid disease as opposed to it being caused by subacute thyroiditis.

Has anyone considered thyroid as a cause for dizzy spells?
I take lamictal, which affects the thyroid. Any drug that has interacted, lamictal is usually the culprit.I used to know someone on this drug that was handed thyroid pills. I don't think he even had a thyroid checkup. He always said it made him feel better. Actually, it always turned him into an a**
