Gluten free diet and Hashimoto's - any advantage? Appears to be so.
This recent paper indicates gluten-free diet can be a useful aid for women with Hashimoto's:

Latest labs: would love an opinion
Currently taking 15 mg armour at 7 AM, 7.5 mg armour at noon, 15 mg armour at 5 pm, and 50 mcg Synthroid in middle of night around 2-3 AM. I just added the extra half at noon, the labs below reflect am and pm 15 mg armour and nighttime 50 mcg Synthroid. I dose all day because I could feel the medicine

Just when it was beginning to make sense.... (apologies for the long post)
I recently posted TFT results from October 2017 in which the FT3, FT4 and TSH were as follows (NB I have never ever been diagnosed with any thyroid problem, but with ME/CFS in 1988): TSH 1.310 mIU/L (0.270-4.2) FT3 3.86 pmol/L (3.74-6.11) FT4 14.9 pmol/L (11.5-19.6) NB I did post these results in 2017

Irisin as a regulator of bone and glucose metabolism
Just what does any endocrinologist really know about hormones? Do they even know of the existence of half of them? No, of course I am not saying that they should know about things that have not been discovered. But they just might accept that:

TSH and Bone Health
It can be interesting when papers published at the same time are in conflict. Yet again, concentrating on TSH - not on thyroid hormone levels. Of course, this we recognise as it is near-universal. And any review or meta-analysis inevitably uses what is available. Se also this recent post/thread: https

How to treat the elderly with thyroid hormone (T4)?
A new downloadable paper in Frontiers in Thyroid Endocrinology. It still peddles T4 only as the only option. Polypharmacy means taking other drugs as well as T4.

Home blood test kit for Thyrotropin receptor antibodies?
Anyone know of a home blood test kit company that runs the test for Thyrotropin receptor antibodies? I can't seem to find one.

Very sick, recommendations for graves endos please.
Dear all My 65 year old mother is very unwell. She had breast cancer 5years ago, and two years later was diagnosed with Graves (elevated thyrotropin antibodies). Her TSH was 0.001, and T4 was 50. She had a very elevated heart rate, heart palpitations, weight loss, hot flushes, nausea, extreme fatigue

DNA results are in! Can anyone help decipher?
Hi, I have just had back my results from Blue Horizon. I am trying to get my foggy brain around the results and what they mean, but I am struggling a bit, so wondered if anyone can help? (I hope you can read the pic attached, I have copied the text below) I have previously posted Thyroid results. Generally

What an amazing day!
Had a follow up appointment today following a brain scan at the end of September. I have a small benign meningioma discovered last May during an MRI scan for Thyroid Eye Disease. Consultant said we would "watch and wait" and that I would have an annual scan, that it was unlikely to grow very quickly
