Should I be taking T3 Meds?
I am a healthy 70 year old female from USA, who had surgery in 8/2021for total
thyroidectomy
for papillary cancer. I went from 50 to 100 mg of Synthroid after surgery & no RAI was needed.

Another blood test result to consider
As a quick recap had a
thyroidectomy
last year due to papillary nodules, I'm currently on 137.5mg Levo only (I was on 150mg 2 months ago). Also taking Vit D 1000mg, Thorne Research Vit B complex capsule and Magnesium citrate 100mg.

Confused again. Help with latest readings please
I had a
thyroidectomy
2 years ago. I also have D102 variant. I started T3 in November 21 as I struggled to get well and bloods indicated poor conversion. I was prescribed 20mg T3 to take in 2 10mg doses and 100mg Levo.

How do I know if my thyroid is the problem?
I don't know if its because I overdid it a bit last week, I usually pace myself since my
thyroidectomy
but had a really busy week last week. Or if it is something viral or my thyroid. I just know I don't feel myself but I don't want to waste my GP's time.

Thyroidectomy and Patient response
This commentary in Clinical Thyroidology reviews a study which indicated that
thyroidectomy
is better than "adequate" T4 replacement in Hashimoto's, improving issues like fatigue etc. The authors do not understand but the answer is clear.

I used to use thyroid s years ago after my
thyroidectomy
but due to other health problems I have just been using levo for a few years. I would now like to go back to it or add in t3.

Am I right in thinking I’m slightly hypothyroid? (Updated post)
Hi all, I’m likely due for
thyroidectomy
soon for my goitre. Following a hemithyroidectomy as a child. These are my most recent bloods, am I right in thinking I’m slightly hypo anyway?

hypothyroid following partial thyroidectomy. Question about HRT and optimum T4 levels.
Dear forum, I am 58. 3 months ago while having parathyroid adenoma removed, I also had partial
thyroidectomy
. This was because thyroid nodule was discovered during scans looking for the adenoma. The nodule was examined and contained micropapliiary carcinoma.

rising lipoprotein a
Since 2017, when I had thyroid cancer and a
thyroidectomy
my lipoprotein a levels have risen steadily from the low 50s to 90.5 in a recent blood test (ref. range is inferior to 30 mg/dL). My cholesterol readings had started to rise and last year I started taking rosuvastatin.

Does anyone actually have an NHS 'named patient basis' for NDT?
I'm still in the process of 'de-puffing' all over, but i've lost about 11kg since starting NDT (only 5-7kg off my pre-
thyroidectomy
weight and 3kg off my ideal weight).

OFF TOPIC:,20 year old daughter in acute psychiatric clinic today due to increasing intrusive and suicidal thoughts.
My mum has had thyroid cancer with full

thyroid hormone receptor over sensitivity
hi Basically I had a full
thyroidectomy
years ago and take 60 micrograms of T3 and 125 milligrams of T4. I’ve been on this a long time and am obese and feel awful though 60mcg t3 and 125 mlg t4 is a massive amount.

I know my consultant (he's not an endo) wants to keep my TSH low to reduce risk of any rogue cancer cells spreading following
thyroidectomy
last Sept, and I don't think he would be averse to T3 if pushed. I can't have RAI treatment due to dry mouth issues, but has TSH gone too low?

Diabetic thyroidie & possible misdiagnosed BPD
My friend, an insulin dependent diabetic from childhood had a
thyroidectomy
2008/9 due to thyrotoxicosis. Three years later diagnosed with bi polar disorder. I suspect mis diagnosis. Takes T4 only, continual tachycardia episodes. I have been told TFTs are in range.
