Ibrance and/or long term port & Blood Clots?
Hi, Got out of the hospital after having a
thrombectomy
for superior vena cava syndrome. I had a dvt that completely blocked off my blood flow from my head to my heart. Scary! Scarier because I was suffering with a swollen head for 6 months before any dr took me seriously.

Risk of endocarditis reoccurring
I’m November I had a major stroke but was lucky enough to have a
thrombectomy
which saved me. In December I was admitted to hospital with a fever and found to have endocarditis. They suspect I had it for months.

Saving the lives of stroke victims by streamlining workflow
A new approach, mechanical
thrombectomy
, is now the treatment of choice for LVOs. “It involves making a small incision in the groin, then a catheter is threaded all the way to the brain to engage the clots and remove them,” Golan explains. “It’s like science fiction.

New Here: Question Regarding Kidney Cancer Followup Care
The tumor was very large (approximately 18 cm) and had grown into the inferior vena cava so they also performed an IVC
thrombectomy
and removed my adrenal gland and a section of the neighboring lymph node. Fortunately no cancer was present when those tissues were tested.

Status report -- 2 weeks post cryoablation
My stroke was luckily/thankfully mitigated by way of an emergency intervention at the hospital -- an endovascular
thrombectomy
was performed. So that's my story and that is where things stand at the moment.

Happy to be alive, but it's still tough.
Had a
thrombectomy
with stent placement. My cardiologist told my husband if they hadn't already been in my heart at that exact time that it happened I would have never survived. What has made me angry is I started having chest pain and not being able to breathe, called 911 within 5-10 minutes.
