Hi everyone. For the second of this month's blogs Wendy has written about her experiences in getting diagnosed with lupus. Thank you so much Wendy for taking the time to share your story.

Info please: wondering about my "tissue bleeds"
I guess there are other names for these haemorrhages deep under the skin. Mine aren't like what's called "blood blisters" cause mine are deeper in my soft tissues. I get these mainly in my hands & feet. Maybe 1 every 3 weeks or so, but lately more like 1 per week. They come on without any "friction

Vasculitis related?
I have very itchy palms and they are driving me mad! Under the skin are spots which are hard to see - but make my hands feel rough to the touch. I can feel my hands throb sometimes and the palms have reddened. I have been using Dermovate ointment and antihistamine tablets. I don't know what else to

Trouble with blister eczema
I have recently had trouble from a tiny pinhead spot of 'blister' eczema (which I think has a name and is fiendishly itchy) on sole of right foot which appeared out of nowhere and spread to about the size of a 5p piece. I treated it with eumovate which dried up the blisters but also dried out the top

OMG - Day one of cold turkey here we come!
Well, after telling my doctor and dermatologist that I am worried that I don't seem to be able to stop using steroid creams, that the more I use them the more I need to use them I have finally consulted the web and realisation has dawned! A brief history to date ... Over the last year my eczema

Itchy palms of hands and soles of feet
Can't imagine that this has any relevance to Raynauds and Scleroderma but last Monday the palms of my hands began to itch and also the soles of my feet were very hot and itchy - felt as though I couldn't stand still as it was so irritating. Went to GP who asked all the usual questions - have you changed

Pregabalin withdrawal and hallucinations getting worse!
My skin is now raw, blistered and swollen. Lost a tooth this morning. Docs offered me dermovate (which I react badly 2, great how these docs listen 2 us aint it Sher). I would have got off this bus years ago if I wasn't the type that refuses 2 give up. I want to learn to B a real cantankerous old bat

Topic of the Month: August - Insect Bites
Severe reaction to insect bites is a feature that is experienced by many lupus patients. Lupus patients are susceptible to insect bites and tend to have severe and prolonged reactions.
What is it that causes a reaction when an insect bites you?
When an insect bites, it releases saliva.

Embarrassing red cheeks
Please can I ask for some advice. I have eczema on my cheeks and occasionally my neck and when it's bad my cheeks are bright red, itch and feel like they're on fire. It flares up when I'm stressed but for the past year it's become more frequent. I was diagnosed with asthma last December and I've noticed
