, but many of my current symptoms feel like Adrenal fatigue… I’m tempted to take Propranolol in the short term for the Anxiety I’m feeling …. What would help with sleep, Are sleeping tablets effective? Many thanks in advance

More advice please
Hi everyone, Further to my previous posts, I saw private Endo last week who won’t prescribe T3 until Short
Synacthen
test
is done for borderline low cortisol of 248 and reverse t3 blood test done to confirm poor t3 conversion (???).

Adrenal insufficiency
After 3.5 years on Prednisolone and 1 year of Toccilizumab for GCA including sight loss (late diagnosis), starting at 60mg, I got down to 2mg following a
Synacthen
test
in June 23 which apparently proved my adrenal glands were capable of working.

Steroid withdrawal?
Had
synacthen
test
in Feb 2023 , then again last week when I had reduced slowly to 3mg. Apparently now my adrenals are functioning well. He suggested still slowly tapering. He said my symptoms fatigue headache not sleeping moody is all steroid withdrawal. I'm not so sure my pmg is not happy.

Confused about acquired adrenal insufficiecy
I had my second short
synacthen
test
a few weeks ago. It showed adrenals not working. I am on 5mg of pred. The test was organised by rheumy when I got down to 5mg. Todays endocrinologist said 5mg was too much and adrenals would not wake up on this and was discharging me back to rheumy.

Short synacthen test
My test results are 250nmol/l prior to receiving the serum then 469 nmol/L then 547 nmol/L The rheumatologist wrote saying the results are satisfactory but will not discuss the test with me. I am down to 1 1/2 mil pred per day but feel very tired, my muscles and joints are painful. Do you think that

Flare problems
A
synacthen
test
on 4 Aug came back normal. My CRP marker was 5 the previous week when symptoms began. Perhaps its not PMR? I went to 'out of hrs' Dr today to rule out other issues ( have had heart issues in past) but nothing suspected.

low cortisol help please
She is sending me for a
Synacthen
test
but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what, if anything, I should be doing to help. I am experiencing dizzyness, nausea and of course the deathly fatigue (but that's nothing new).

Newbie to this community and wondering about B12 deficiency
I've also had my cortisol tested by saliva and short
synacthen
test
, both showed low levels but the adrenals work when stimulated so it's not Addisons. I've tried levothyroxine, T3 and thyroid glandulars and whilst they increase my frees, they make me feel awful.

episode 6 of a limited series!
thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to my previous update Today I was told that contrary to what the rheumatologist nurse told me that I was to be referred to an endocrinologist- I now have an appointment for a
synacthen
test
on June21 for which I am not to take that morning’s pred.

Withdrawal or Flare
I did have a
Synacthen
test
which came back in normal range , I know this just means the Adrenals are capable of working not that they are .

Synacthen test results- any advice?
The results are as follows- Morning cortisol- 78 so referred for
synacthen
test
. Morning cortisol 95 on day of
synacthen
test
. Cortisol response to
synacthen
was 475 with a cut off from that particular lab of 500 (I know this varies between labs).

Synacthen Test looming in a moment...quick query
That was Wednesday, I'm still here and about to have the
synacthen
test
. The doctor suspects 'Adissonion crisis'. Pred was abolished with immediate effect and Im being given IV hydrocortisone.

Steroid Withdrawal???
When I saw her on Thursday she told me that I no longer had any inflammatory markers according to the
Synacthen
test
, and my bone density was good according to Mr Dexa, which means the PMR is in remission.

Changing from Prednisolone to possibly Hydrocortisone
Good morning Following a
Synacthen
test
my Rheumatologist has said my Adrenals gave a very good response, currently taking 5.5 mg Pred . He wrote in his letter he would like me off Pred ASAP and will discuss possibly changing to Hydrocortisone when I see him next week .

Low cortisol .. next steps
I then had a Short
Synacthen
test
and the result came back normal, which I believe rules out Addisons disease. My next endo appointment is not until the end of August which seems like a long time to wait. I’m wondering what the next steps are.
