Cortisol test
I am quite pleased with that but the NHS guidelines state: "For 9 a.m. cortisol of 100-400, consider a short
synacthen
test
".

I had a second SST in June at the insistence of my endo, and have been meaning to post for comment. My results were:- 8.55am 245 nmol/l 9.25am 592 nmol/l (Adrenal insufficiency indicated by cortisol <440 30 mins post synacthen) I am aware that my starting cortisol is fairly dire, although my GP

Adrenal insufficiency
After 3.5 years on Prednisolone and 1 year of Toccilizumab for GCA including sight loss (late diagnosis), starting at 60mg, I got down to 2mg following a
Synacthen
test
in June 23 which apparently proved my adrenal glands were capable of working.

Synacthen Test Result
Hi allJust recently got result from endo. Obviously it rules out Addisons which is good and I responded to the inj. The second blood draw was actually done 40 mins post administration but I'm assuming that wouldn't have affected the overall result too much. However I know my baseline blood cortisol is

Synacthen Test Results
Hi everyone, just looking for some clarification on a
Synacthen
test
I've had. Bit of background, 36M, pretty healthy in terms of diet, exercise, sleep etc. No medications. I've been suffering for a few months with fatigue, heart palpitations. Seems to get a lot worse after exercise.

Synacthen test
I’ve received notification from the Consultant Rheumatologist that “it shows a slightly suboptimal response with a post synacthen level of 432. Normally the cut off is 450. It is borderline “ She then tells me she is happy for me to taper from 5mg to 4mg for a month and taper again to 3mg when she will

Newbie to this community and wondering about B12 deficiency
I've also had my cortisol tested by saliva and short
synacthen
test
, both showed low levels but the adrenals work when stimulated so it's not Addisons. I've tried levothyroxine, T3 and thyroid glandulars and whilst they increase my frees, they make me feel awful.

Steroid withdrawal?
Had
synacthen
test
in Feb 2023 , then again last week when I had reduced slowly to 3mg. Apparently now my adrenals are functioning well. He suggested still slowly tapering. He said my symptoms fatigue headache not sleeping moody is all steroid withdrawal. I'm not so sure my pmg is not happy.

Why are my limbs painful after coming off Pred?
I am having a short
synacthen
test
tomorrow but I'm going on a walking holiday in Spain a week today and am slightly nervous because I'm getting quite a lot of stiffness in my arms and legs.

Confused about acquired adrenal insufficiecy
I had my second short
synacthen
test
a few weeks ago. It showed adrenals not working. I am on 5mg of pred. The test was organised by rheumy when I got down to 5mg. Todays endocrinologist said 5mg was too much and adrenals would not wake up on this and was discharging me back to rheumy.

low cortisol help please
She is sending me for a
Synacthen
test
but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what, if anything, I should be doing to help. I am experiencing dizzyness, nausea and of course the deathly fatigue (but that's nothing new).

Flare problems
A
synacthen
test
on 4 Aug came back normal. My CRP marker was 5 the previous week when symptoms began. Perhaps its not PMR? I went to 'out of hrs' Dr today to rule out other issues ( have had heart issues in past) but nothing suspected.

Steroid Withdrawal???
When I saw her on Thursday she told me that I no longer had any inflammatory markers according to the
Synacthen
test
, and my bone density was good according to Mr Dexa, which means the PMR is in remission.

Short synacthen test
My test results are 250nmol/l prior to receiving the serum then 469 nmol/L then 547 nmol/L The rheumatologist wrote saying the results are satisfactory but will not discuss the test with me. I am down to 1 1/2 mil pred per day but feel very tired, my muscles and joints are painful. Do you think that

Synacthen Test looming in a moment...quick query
That was Wednesday, I'm still here and about to have the
synacthen
