Today I had a review on advice of Asthma U.K. nurse, who was concerned that I take four puffs daily of
Symbicort
normally. Over the summer I have tried to cut down to two per day a few times, but there was always something that pushed it up again.

Recycle your inhalers
The site has a list of pharmacies near you which do this plus a list of what you can recycle (most types of inhaler devices eg Ventolin aerosol, Respimat,
Symbicort
dry powder, Nexthaler etc etc can be recycled with this; spacers and nebulizer stuff can't). http://uk.gsk.com/en-gb/responsibility/our-planet

Bewildered and unsure as usual
A week ago tomorrow night I reduced my
Symbicort
to one puff am and one pm, to test if that works for me. This was after a review earlier that day, where I had been told I should ideally be on that dose, not two times two per day. If I needed that much I need something else.

A rough month Cough Variant Asthma
I've been able to maintain it pretty well over the past 1.5 years using albuterol (ventolin/blue inhaler), montelukast, and
symbicort
if it got bad. However, a month ago I caught a cold and started coughing very badly and had to go to hospital. Got a nebuluzer treatment there.

Great peak flow but I can't breathe!
Long-term asthmatic (using daily
Symbicort
/Ventolin) mostly having flares with exercise, colds/chest infections/hay fever. I can become quite ill with a chest infection. Daily OK with peak flows of c 420-450.

Symbicort 200/6 Turbohaler
Been on this for nearly 3 years. It no longer seems to be as effective. I am waking up between 4 am and 6am with a tight chest and slightly laboured breathing.Seeing my doctor soon. Any suggestions from similar experience? Thanks

Flare up
I was talking
symbicort
100/6 2 x twice a day. I said I just about tollerate the LABA in that dose and don't use the blue inhaler much even when I know I'd get relief, due to same symptoms - palpitations and shaky. The GP told me to double my dose of
symbicort
. So 4 x puffs twice a day.

Good peak flow tight chest
Got referred to pulmonary specialist, taking high dose of
symbicort
(800 ug/day) for over a year with no effec. As my peak flow is good and my chest is clean, I feel like they don't take it seriously. I don't remember when was last time I had full night sleep.

Symbicort to Seretide Last chance systemic steroids are yuck
I’ve been struggling with systemic problems due to prednisone & now high dose steroid inhalers.Alvesco,
Symbicort
and now I’ve been put on Seretide 250/50. This is my last option apparently??? I need a high dose to be able to function but my body just doesn’t copy with extreme side effects.

Another one with a conundrum
And, of course, my asthma has kicked in, so I have increased my
Symbicort
. My peakflow is down to marginally above 80% of my best, so not that bad at all, at least not yet.

Ventolin question
I have emphysema/asthma and am on 3 inhalers, Spiriva Respimat,
Symbicort
and Ventolin. The Ventolin seems to help the most with my breathing (I think). What I'm wondering is how much and how often can I use it? My lung doc says 2 puffs every 4 hours as needed.

Hi, I have asthma and currently on tiotropium and

I seem to be super allergic to dust which causes me a huge load issues like post nasal drip which cause phlem and voice issues. The do for gave me this a while ago to try but never took it as I heard alot about side effect.

Severe asthma attack ...still poorly
I've been discharged on antibiotics, steroids 40mg for 7 days, inhaler changed to
symbicort
and salbutamol. I'm 34 and was diagnosed at 19.

What should I ask my consultant?
18 months ago my asthma became much more stable after being switched to
Symbicort
SMART and Spiriva Respimat by the consultant I saw in addition to Montelukast. After seeing him a few times he was satisfied that things were stable and he discharged me back to the care of my gp.
